San Antonio animal shelters out of space, in dire need of foster families

SAN ANTONIO – Two San Antonio animal shelters are completely out of space and are in dire need of foster families due to an influx of puppies and dogs, according to San Antonio Pets Alive!
“It’s a very sad state of affairs when we see this many puppies and happy, friendly dogs on the list for euthanasia,” said a spokesperson with SAPA.
The City Municipal Shelter and SAPA are completely out of space — their fosters are full and so are their kennels, according to SAPA officials.
Although the facilities are using temporary crates, they’re hoping to spread the word to help find their animals more foster families to save them from euthanasia.
Currently, there are seven foster families right now that work with SAPA. If you’re interested in becoming a foster parent, SAPA’s foster team can help set up new families with a puppy or two, or an adult dog if preferred.
If you’re open to becoming a new dog foster parent, you can fill out an application online for SAPA here or contact the shelter via email at foster@sanantoniopetsalive.org.
